Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

VerifiedReel ("we," "us," "our") operates a platform that lets directors, producers, writers, and financiers build a verified profile showing real, third-party-confirmed trust signals — identity, guild membership, proof of funds, chain-of-title status, and completion bond eligibility.

2. Information we collect

Account information

Name, email address, and a hashed password when you create an account.

Profile information

Role, location, headline, and an optional profile photo you choose to upload. Photos are stored directly with your profile record.

Email verification

We send a 6-digit code to the email address you provide to confirm you control it, via our email provider, Resend.

Identity verification

If you choose to verify your identity, you are redirected to Stripe Identity, where you provide a government-issued ID and a selfie directly to Stripe. We do not receive or store your ID document images or selfie. We receive back only the verification result (verified, failed, or pending) and, if successful, the legal name on your ID, which we display on your profile. Stripe processes this data under its own privacy policy and is itself a regulated KYC/identity provider.

Verification request details

When you submit a guild membership, proof of funds, or chain-of-title request, we store the information you type into that form (e.g., guild name and membership number, balance and institution name, project and rights details) as plain text associated with your profile, for human review.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. How we use this information

• To create and operate your account and profile
• To confirm your email address and identity
• To route your verification requests for review
• To display your verification status and tier to other users
• To communicate with you about your account

4. Who we share it with

We share data with the following service providers, solely to operate the platform:

• Stripe Identity — processes government ID and selfie data directly; we never see the raw documents
• Resend — delivers verification code emails
• Supabase — hosts our Postgres database
• Vercel — hosts the application

We do not sell your personal information, and other platform users only see what you choose to put on your public profile plus your verification tier/status.

5. Your rights and choices

You can edit your profile information and photo, or permanently delete your account at any time from your profile's edit page. Deleting your account removes your profile, verification records, and login credentials from our database. Identity verification results already shared with Stripe are retained by Stripe under their own data retention policy, independent of our deletion of your account.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account is active, and delete it upon account deletion as described above. Verification request details you submit are retained as part of your profile history while your account exists.

7. Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text. Identity documents never pass through our servers — they go directly to Stripe's hosted verification flow. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all traffic to this site.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
